LAWS FOR YOUR INSTRUMENTS

 

1st Law :

 

If there is any way to damage, mutilate or destroy a piece of equipment, some enterprising individual will find it.

 

2nd Law :

 

In commissioning an instrument or in fault finding when all possible approaches have been tried and all experts consulted to no avail it is time to read the manufacturers instruction manual.

 

3rd Law :

 

If there is a possibility of several things going wrong with an instrument, the one that will go wrong is the one that will do the most damage.

 

4th Law :

The instrument that you buy will be incapable of performing to the manufacturer’s certified specification because :

  1. It is the last of the mark 1’s.
  2. It is the new’s 2’s
  3. It is being used with unsuitable ancillary equipment.
  4. The last representative in your area overstated its capacities.
  5. It was not designed to do what you are trying to do with it .
  6. You have mains fluctuations.
  7. It is doing the job but you are not able to interpret the readings.
